ONLINE: Integrated Petrophysics - Quick Look Techniques (PPH906)

  • 4-6 December 20233 daysVirtual instructor-led course, OnlineCourse Fee: 1650 EUR + VAT

The course walks you through how to perform a Quick Look Log Analysis integrated with common non-log and special log data. The process is easy to understand and performed real-time following established petrophysical principles but within an operations ‘quick look’ setting.
The course uses simple, multi-disciplinary techniques to quickly cross check and verify petrophysical results on-the-fly for more objective, fact based operational decisions. Existing log-based field development studies can also be checked and verified by these quick look techniques.
The diversity of inputs used affords a degree of confidence simply not possible with conventional quick look log analysis and moves you into an environment of certainty, confidence and leadership which benefits everyone downstream of the drill bit.

Course Structure:
  • 3 modules of 4 hours each, delivered over 3 days
  • Optional: Pre-course self-learning module
  • Optional: Post-course self learning module incl. Q&A opportunity

Course Level: Foundation
Instructor: Mark Deakin

Designed for you, if you are...

  • An operations or wellsite geologist or petrophysicist
  • An experienced log analyst, user of petrophysical results or geo-modeller
  • An exploration manager or team leader
  • A professional who could benefit from being aware of the numerous quick and easy but never used techniques that transform quick look log analysis into robust, hard edged results

How we build your confidence

  • This course uses a wide variety of delivery mechanisms which build a clear understanding and template for all quick look petrophysical evaluations.
  • This course provides fast and effective tools for the real time drilling environment. The process provides simple log specific check boxes for the stressed petrophysicist working under the rule of the bit. It also provides an easy to apply tool for geologists and engineers to independently check their existing geo models before making major decisions - opening the petrophysical black box to the team.

This course consists of five components to expand and maximise the course content delivery. The course content is varied and stimulating and includes short focused instructor videos; course notes extracts; micro-practicals, cornerstone 4 hour daily VILT sessions; before and after self-learning modules; Question & Answer sessions; industry videos & exercises; comprehensive Petrophysical Toolbox; Petro DB extracts; HPV sensitivities; How to demos; Quizzes & Answers

Before and After Self-Learning Modules
These modules are an important extra component of the course:
  • Pre is designed to focus and prepare you for the main VILT session
  • Post allows you to practise and quiz yourselves and the instructor before closing out the course

The benefits from attending

By the end of the course you will:

  • 保持你的思想集中在真正重要的事情
  • Know how to make the correct decisions faster, real- time with robust, cross-checked quick look results (…and after this course your Quick Look will be robust!)
